During my recent visit to the Bay of Islands Gateway Motel & Apartments, I was pleasantly surprised by the outstanding hospitality and laid-back charm that greeted us. My travel partner and I enjoyed a spacious, spotless room complete with a kitchenette and a lovely sea view from our communal balcony, perfect for those early morning coffee moments. The location was a dream—a short, scenic stroll along the beachfront to Paihia and close to the notable Waitangi Treaty Grounds, allowing us to delve into New Zealand's rich history. What really stood out was the warm welcome from Julie and Martin, who ensured we felt right at home and were always ready with tips for local adventures. With the motel serving as a pickup point for various tours, we didn’t have to think twice about exploring the stunning marine paradise of the Bay of Islands. I left with a deeper appreciation for this beautiful corner of the world, and I can’t wait to return!
